Description
MOTS-c (mitochondrial open reading frame of the 12S rRNA type-c) is a 16-amino-acid peptide encoded by the mitochondrial genome. Sequence: Met-Arg-Trp-Gln-Glu-Met-Gly-Tyr-Ile-Phe-Tyr-Pro-Arg-Lys-Leu-Arg; molecular weight approximately 2174.6 Da. In cell models it has been reported to modulate the folate-methionine cycle, AICAR accumulation and AMPK activation, and to translocate to the nucleus under metabolic stress. Supplied as a lyophilised powder. For laboratory research use only.
