Description
Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+) is a pyridine dinucleotide coenzyme, formula C21H27N7O14P2, molecular weight approximately 663.43 Da. It functions as the principal hydride acceptor in redox reactions catalysed by dehydrogenases and as a substrate for sirtuins, PARPs and CD38 in ADP-ribosyl transfer chemistry. Supplied as a lyophilised disodium-buffered powder; hygroscopic and light-sensitive, hydrolysing in alkaline solution. Used in enzymology, redox-flux and cell-culture research. For laboratory research use only.
